IGF-1 LR3 1mg

SKU: bxf-igf-1 Category:

IGF-1 LR3 (Long Arg3–Insulin-Like Growth Factor-1) is a synthetic analog of human insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) engineered to enhance receptor interaction and extend biological half-life in experimental systems. Structurally, it contains an arginine substitution at position 3 and a 13–amino acid N-terminal extension, modifications that reduce binding affinity to IGF-binding proteins (IGFBPs) while maintaining strong affinity for the IGF-1 receptor (IGF-1R). In laboratory research, IGF-1 LR3 is classified as a potent IGF-1 receptor agonist used to investigate growth factor–mediated signaling pathways.

Mechanistically, IGF-1 LR3 binds to the IGF-1 receptor, activating intrinsic tyrosine kinase activity and initiating downstream signaling cascades including the PI3K/Akt and MAPK/ERK pathways. These intracellular pathways regulate cellular proliferation, differentiation, protein synthesis, and survival in various tissue models. Due to its reduced interaction with IGF-binding proteins, IGF-1 LR3 exhibits prolonged receptor availability and sustained signaling activity compared to native IGF-1 in controlled experimental environments.

In vitro and preclinical research applications, IGF-1 LR3 is utilized to study anabolic signaling, myogenic differentiation, glucose transport regulation, and anti-apoptotic mechanisms. Investigators frequently employ it in cell culture systems to assess receptor phosphorylation kinetics, gene transcription changes, and protein synthesis markers. Its extended activity profile makes it particularly useful in models requiring sustained IGF-1 receptor engagement without rapid sequestration by endogenous binding proteins.

Overall, IGF-1 LR3 is regarded as a research-grade growth factor analog designed for controlled investigation of IGF-1 receptor–mediated signaling. Its structural modifications provide enhanced stability and prolonged biological activity, making it a valuable tool for laboratory studies focused on cellular growth regulation, metabolic signaling, and receptor pharmacodynamics. It is intended strictly for research use in regulated laboratory settings.
